Day for Night
Director: François Truffaut
Year Released: 1973
Rating: 3.0
Truffaut's popular movie about the problems that arise during the making of a motion picture - not only must the director (Truffaut, playing himself to some degree) deal with on-set issues (uncooperative little cats, dying actors and what have you), but his cast's off-screen emotional issues as well. I liked it well enough, but the common critical comment that it "Encourages you to go out and make your own film" didn't really apply to me - if anything, he shows that the process is arduous, beautiful and worthwhile ... but still a job, like a lot of other jobs, and filled with both highs and lows.
