The Matrix Revolutions
Director: The Wachowskis
Year Released: 2003
Rating: 2.0
Slight improvement over part two in the series (The Matrix Reloaded), mainly because the protracted scenes of inane dialogue have been kept to the beginning of this one - the last hour plus eschews soap-box ranting for flashing lights, CGI-out-your-ass, explosions, talking robot heads and subliminal violence (people are sliced up or die so quickly you can barely perceive it). I find the ideas of the first three films compelling (mainly because I like the 'source material' the Wachowskis chose to reference) but the execution sloppy; strangely enough, I prefer The Animatrix over the three 'live-action' movies, because those animated shorts are diverse (there were several directors involved, some involved with anime, usually known for its own unique half-baked philosophical café chatter), inventive and - for the most part - avoid the posturing of the feature films (while investigating some of their finer points). Are all of you ready for The Matrix: Resurrection?
