Down With Love
Director: Peyton Reed
Year Released: 2003
Rating: 2.0
Soulless simulation of the Day/Hudson films - but mostly Pillow Talk - about a hip new writer (Renee Zellweger) who writes a book for women that encourages them to be more like men but gets 'fooled' into love by a well-known hedonist and writer (Ewan MacGregor). The 'battle of the sexes' theme can be fun if done right, but this is tired and uninspired - the color schemes are there, and David Hyde Pierce shows up to steal his scenes, but the two leads - who don't 'act' so much as 'mug' - have very little chemistry together.
