Schlocky 80's comedy/horror hybrid has good old American Dad (and swinger!) Stan (Gerrit Graham) installing a satellite dish in his home, but instead of only getting special channels he taps into another galaxy where an oozing, murderous space dog gets transmitted into their home and starts turning humans (including WWII vet Grandpa!) into green gelatin.  Everything about it is over-the-top - the "performances," the set, the design of the monster - and should turn off many with its ineptitude (I've seen smoother student films shot on Bolexes), though it does have a few unexpected moments, like rocker O.D. (Jon Dries) and his girlfriend Suzy (Diane Franklin) trying to teach the Hungry Beast about food and music and Intergalactic Custodian Pluthar (William Paulson) arriving to save the day ... and failing.  I first saw an edited version of this back as a kid via New York television (which was my gateway to weird movies) and recall being freaked out by it; the theme song has stuck in my mind all these years, so that must count for something.
