Mission: Impossible – Fallout

Director: Christopher McQuarrie
Year Released: 2018
Rating: 2.5

What do some people want? International missions and the threat of nuclear explosions! How do some people want them? Moderately difficult but certainly possible! Who do some people want to save us? Still Tom Cruise, who's in his mid-50's and insists on doing his own stunts (even though that's probably not the best idea)! In this sixth (!?) M:I popcorn cruncher - full of intrigue! - Ethan Hunt must collect plutonium to keep it away from terrorist Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) who wants to make nuclear weapons to take out humanity (who doesn't?). There's no fix or jam McQuarrie can't 'write his way out of' and there is so much double crossing it's tough to figure out who is on what side ... except for Cruise, who is always Good and Right. It moves quickly and doesn't give you time to try to process it all, which makes sense coming from the guy who dropped Keyser Soze on us over twenty years ago.
