Incredibles 2

Director:  Brad Bird
Year Released:  2018
Rating:  1.5

City officials and the populace are tired of bulky Mr. Incredible (voiced by Craig T. Nelson) and his family obliterating the city every time a baddie pops up with a power drill and bad intentions, so to "reinvent" the team (and make taxpayers more comfortable) it's decided his wife, Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) should become the new "main" superhero in town, leaving Mr. I. to take on a maternal role and care for their teenage daughter Violet (Sarah Vowell), who has boy problems, son Dash (Huck Milner) and infant Jack-Jack. There's a good reason why it took Pixar fourteen years to make a sequel to the original: they're tapped out of ideas as to what to do with these particular characters, so they "borrow" from 1983's Mr. Mom (with Michael Keaton!) and pencil in a villain ("The Screenslaver" ... yeesh) that's hardly threatening. Pixar's last couple of outings have been (for the most part) disappointments ... and it won't help that John Lasseter, one of their visionaries, had to step away from the company because of (alleged) personal indiscretions.
