Tin Men

Director: Barry Levinson
Year Released: 1987
Rating: 3.0

Found myself liking this more and more despite the choppy narrative and some of the grating dialogue (something like: "I like this chair." "Oh, you like that chair? Well, I like that chair." "But I like the chair more." "No you don't, I do." ... ad nauseum). Danny De Vito and Richard Dreyfuss sell this one completely - their performances are exacting and interesting - and the tortures they impose on one another very, very amusing. Too bad the film just sort of drops off at the end - apparently Levinson had never heard the phrase "tying up loose ends."
