Little Evil

Director:  Eli Craig
Year Released:  2017
Rating:  1.0

Real estate agent Gary (Adam Scott) marries single mother Samantha (Evangeline Lilly) ... except her son Lucas (Owen Atlas), looking and acting like Damien from the Omen movies (or a pre-teen Angus Young), might be the (actual) spawn of Satan. It's listed as "horror comedy" but succeeds at neither (with the exception of Bridget Everett's cool step-bro "Al," who must be a fun person to get sloshed with): Scott's too calm and collected to ever be rattled and the kid warms up to him (after almost burying him alive) quickly. I have friends who are step-parents and I've heard dreadful stories about these kinds of situations, but the movie tries for little and achieves less. Just a friendly reminder: the only "little evil" to come out of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania is the person writing this capsule (... and never forget it).
