London Has Fallen

Director: Babak Najafi
Year Released: 2016
Rating: 1.0

Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) accompanies American President Ben Asher (Aaron Eckhart) to attend a funeral for a recently-deceased British Prime Minister, except terrorists are using the event to wipe out the world leaders (and blow up English monuments). It may be politically-ignorant flag-waving propaganda with hammy action movie dialogue and clichés (remember Commando from 1985? Banning is just as indestructible) ... but it is timely, considering recent ground attacks in Paris (in November of 2015) and Brussels (in March of 2016) by ISIL (or whatever those backwards asshats call themselves nowadays). The most interesting thing I found about this is the fact that director Najafi is of Iranian descent: it's evident he's as sick of this madness as most sane individuals.
