Artist Delpy, living with her talk-show host boyfriend (Chris Rock), brings into town her family from Paris who just so happen to be crazy, chattering stereotypes: let the fish-out-of-water jokes ensue! Rock continues his streak of being the funniest American in unfunny movies and Delpy's character - always frantic - is downright annoying. She even has the gall to borrow from an episode of The Simpsons for a sequence where she sells her "soul" and none other than Vincent Gallo (playing Vincent Gallo, the actor, the filmmaker, the painter, the poet, the musician, etc.) purchases it: this is Delpy straining for "depth" ... and cribbing a very well known TV show. ¡Ay, caramba!
