Who said this was funny? Aside from a few cute moments (there's a crippled Gingerbread Man who steals the movie; the montage to a song by Eels is capped off by Shrek and the Princess blowing up a frog and a snake to make ... balloons), it's mostly repetitious, slow and uninteresting. Its postmodern slant subsides under the desire to be "poignant" with relentless moralizing about "unattractive people" and how you shouldn't judge someone by how they look (liked the little twist at the end to a degree). Eddie Murphy is a little comic bright spot amidst all the lame puns and ho-hum double entendres, though by the end you'd wish, like Shrek did, that he'd shut up. Walt Disney would have been irate.
