Bed and Sofa

Director: Abram Room
Year Released: 1927
Rating: 2.0

A third party moves in with a married couple and proceeds to have an affair with the wife - the husband, after finding out about the transgression, goes from anger to begrudging acceptance, and they all try to live as a threesome. Reminiscent of Jules and Jim, though without Truffaut's touch, it goes from sluggish to outright irritating, as the two men somehow come to the conclusion that they're louts and that the icy wife is actually the victim in all this, when she is just as responsible as they are. You can't help but love the Stalin-approved Calendar: there's no better way to keep track of the days under an oppressive regime!
