Touchez Pas au Grisbi

Director: Jacques Becker
Year Released: 1954
Rating: 3.0

After swiping several gold bars, an aging thief and his friend lay low - that is, until a rogue associate decides he wants the money. Standard noir fare complete with shootouts, mouthy dames, kidnapping, double crossing and chase sequences, only done with complete finesse by Becker - even though it's familiar territory, that doesn't make it any less exciting. Jean Gabin plays a character not unlike his role in Bob le Flambeur, and is as solid as you'd expect.
