Three Days of the Condor

Director: Sydney Pollack
Year Released: 1975
Rating: 2.5

Muddled espionage film about a CIA bookkeeper (Robert Redford) that finds out some information that he shouldn't have and winds up getting hunted down by some mysterious assassins. Some parts of this movie are very good (Max Von Sydow is effective as an enigmatic hitman), but as a whole it doesn't add up to much. Faye Dunaway's character is poorly written: Redford takes her hostage, she's (naturally) scared and angry, sleeps with him anyway and falls in love. In other words, she's completely unnecessary in the film.
