Six of a Kind

Director: Leo McCarey
Year Released: 1934
Rating: 1.0

Early road picture about four people driving to California to spend exactly 24 hours in Hollywood - you have your prerequisite 'squares' for the comedians (Gracie Allen, W.C. Fields) to bounce their lines off of and one or two sight gags that are so dated they border on surrealism. Fields adds a spark here and there, but it seems shoddy in almost every way - Allen's idiot shtick grates on my nerves the way few actresses do.
